Planetsky accelerator client has been updated to version 2.4.4a.
The update contains a number of improvements and fixes. We recommend you to upgrade your accelerator client as soon as possible.
New client binaries can be downloaded using the following links:

Windows version
Linux version
FreeBSD version

No license or configuration file changes required!
Just stop the client, replace the binary and restart it.

ATTENTION! If you don't have a real IP or wish to use tc-recv without a VPN connection, please complete the following steps:

1. Contact the technical support team to obtain an IP address for tc-recv
2. Put the IP address on your DVB receiver's network interface or loopback interface
3. Add the following option to your recv.ini as shown below:

[etcp_parameters]
...
external_udp_address=A.B.C.D
...

where A.B.C.D is the IP address obtained from support.
Please do not paste the 'external_udp_address=A.B.C.D' line to your configuration file, A.B.C.D is just an example, the actual address will be assigned by technical support!

ATTENTION! If you are using HTTP prefetching cache, it might grow very quickly and occupy too much space on your hard disk. Thus make sure you have the following lines in your recv.ini:

[http_prefetching]
...
http_prefetching_cache_size=XXXXXX
extended_cache_lifetime=YYYYYY
...

where XXXXXX is disk cache size in bytes (unlimited by default) and YYYYYY is disk cache object lifetime (defaults to 604800 - 1 week).

The accelerator license is available at:licence.ini

To be able to use the accelerator You should activate your personal accelerator account. Please visit the automatic activation page. Use your subscription name and password to authenticate yourself, press the "Activate" button and then use the subscription name and password for accelerator.

ACCELERATOR SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

1. Download accelerator software from link above
2. Unpack the client to some folder
3. Download and unpack accelerator configuration file to the folder with tc-recv. You can find configuration file below:

Configuration file for Express AM1 satellite
Configuration file for Arabsat 4B satellite
Configuration file for Express AM22 satellite

4. Change username and password

[recipient]
user_name = planetsky
user_key = am1

to your subscription login and password

[recipient]
user_name = Your username
user_key = Your password

How to use accelerator with VPN-BEST, VPN-FAKE or OpenVPN

1. Disable proxy in Internet browser
2. Connect to VPN-FAKE server (OpenVPN)
3. Start tc-recv (or tc-recv.exe on windows)
4. Setup the Internet browser to use proxy

proxy ip: 127.0.0.1
proxy port: 9202

5. Surfe the Internet

How to use accelerator instead of "PlanetSky Proxy"

1. Disable proxy in Internet browser
2. Login to PlanetSky http://login.planetsky.com:8082
3. Start tc-recv (or tc-recv.exe on windows)
4. Setup the Internet browser to use proxy

proxy ip: 127.0.0.1
proxy port: 9202

5. Surfe the Internet

To make sure that you are working through the accelerator, visit page with our IP address checker. Your IP address should be 82.211.152.12:

Requirements for individual settings(obligatory)

Individual tuning of the accelerator will make satellite connection faster, improve quality of Internet on the slow uplinks with packet lost and minimize outgoing traffic.

You should tune outgoing(uplink) speed(send data rate) in the configuration file recv.ini. Option:

max_send_data_rate=

Specify speed in the bit\s.
We strongly recommend to set speed equal to the 90% from your uplink channel. Download speed will be set automatically according to your subscription speed.

Recommendations for subscribers with GPRS uplinks.

The theoretical limit for packet switched data is approx. 160.0 kbit/s. A realistic bit rate is 30-80 kbit/s in both directions. Speed of the GPRS uplink depends on GPRS class of the mobile phone, GPRS class that Mobile Station supports and GPRS coding. GPRS coding depends on distance from the Mobile Station to the mobile device. More about GPRS standards and classes you could find here.

When you are working via GPRS+Satellite you are using GPRS just for transmit. Usually you will be able to use just one time slot for transmit (GPRS class 4). Only if your GPRS operator has a modern Mobile Station with GPRS class 6 support, you will have an opportunity to use two time slots for transmit.

We recommend to set outgoing speed 7Kbit/s for GPRS:

max_send_data_rate=7000

Accelerators and Download Managers(FlashGet, ReGet)

If you are using accelerator it is not necessary to specify more then one stream in the Download Manager, because accelerator already optimized for download acceleration. Multistream download may cause additional traffic.

Download Manager may be helpful only like download resumption.

Accelerator documentation

Broadened documentation about accelerator is inside the programm. If you wish to receive access to it, you should add to the section [shell] next options:

login=<UserName>:<Password>
port=2617
refresh=60
interface_address= <IP address >

where, <IP address > is IP address of the network interface of the computer with accelerator or 127.0.0.1 if accelerator is running on the local machine.

Restart accelerator.
Enter url   http://<IP addres>:2617/   in the browser.
